A workshop for growers, processors, distributors and food service operators.
Thursday, November 30, 2017
Champaign County Farm Bureau (801 N. Country Fair Drive, Champaign)
About the Workshop
Join us for a free workshop exploring the logistics of bringing food (including vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy, and grain) from local producers to University Housing Dining Services at the University of Illinois. We will explore goal setting, navigating the purchasing process, and understanding the supply chain. Attendees will include local producers and distributors, educators from the Illinois Extension, and higher education dining services colleagues from the state of Illinois. Hear from expert speakers and engage in small group dialogue for an informative, interactive workshop experience.
Open to everyone, including producers, processors, distributors, institutions, institutional buyers, students, and staff.
Feel free to drop in at any time during the event for snacks, discussion, and educational information.
Use hashtag #localfood2017 to share information and ideas surrounding the conference and speakers!
