Fall 2018 Move-In
We're excited to welcome you to your new home on campus! Time to start planning and get ready to move in.
You are strongly encouraged to arrive on your designated Move-In day. I-Guides will be able to provide move-in assistance on August 21 and 23 beginning 9 a.m.
- Tuesday, August 21 for new residents of living-learning communities participating in LLC Orientation
- Thursday, August 23 for new freshmen and transfer students
- Saturday, August 25 for returning students (no I-Guide assistance provided)
We are able to provide the best service on these specific days including hall welcome events, parking and traffic control, and staff availability. The undergraduate residence halls open for check-in beginning at 9 a.m. these days. Please pick up your keys at the office in your area between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
Need to move in early?
If there is a need to come to campus prior to these days, you may move in between Sunday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 22. No registration is needed — just show up at the front desk of the hall you are assigned to. There are additional fees as these dates fall outside your University Housing Contract.You can arrive starting Sunday, August 19 at noon. If you will be unable to arrive by the first day of classes on Monday, August 27, notify the Housing Information Office of when you intend to check in. If you arrive after August 28 without notifying the Housing Information Office, your assignment may change. Failure to claim your room assignment does not automatically cancel your contract.
Dining meal plans begin on August 23 with lunch. The deadline to make meal plan changes for the fall semester is September 22.

Sherman and Daniels Halls
Resident must apply online to move in prior to the above dates. See Early Arrival information for more details and rates.
Please note that parking on campus is very limited. Upon your arrival, you may unload your vehicle from a curb or metered space nearest your residence hall (do not leave your car unattended while unloading). For longer term visitor parking that same day you must contact Campus Parking at (217) 333-3530 or www.parking.illinois.edu. Meters and lots are enforced by Campus Parking during move-in. University Housing is not responsible for parking tickets you may receive.
For Daniels Hall Residents:
With construction on Green Street, access to the building and parking may be a challenge.
TO ENTER (2 OPTIONS):
- Access Daniels Hall by coming East on Green Street heading towards Lincoln Ave. Turn North on Gregory St. and Turn left into the B10 or B11 University Housing parking lots.
- Access Daniels going East or West on Springfield Ave. Turn South on Gregory St. travel south and turn right into B10 or B11 University Housing parking lots.
Use East side B10 entry to exit the building for the duration of the MCORE Project.
Urbana parking meters are located along Gregory Street. There are no meters in B10 or B11 lots. B10 Lot will be used as a “Load and Go lot” location that is accessed from Daniels via the East side exit and entry points.
If you will be moving in to University Apartments at Orchard Downs, Goodwin-Green, or Ashton Woods, please come to the Family & Graduate Housing office to check in. The FGH office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are closed over weekends and on holidays. If you need to pick up your keys outside of our normal business hours, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make alternate arrangements.

Check-in will take 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the volume of residents arriving. We have requested that you bring completed forms and provide proof of affiliation to the University of Illinois. Check-in will be more efficient if your forms are completed in advance and you provide the appropriate documents (marriage certificate, domestic partner verification, and birth certificates, as appropriate).
